ABOUT PROJECT ARCTOS
In 2005, members of the Chinese church based in the United States published the first edition of Kingdom Resources for Christ (KRC). The founders of the magazine believed every person had a gift from God, gifts meant to be used for God’s Kingdom, a community where God’s will was done. Instead of only publishing articles, KRC introduced writing workshops through which people could grow their skills, form community, and find opportunity for publishing their works.
As the magazine sought to reach out to the next generation, they started an English section. Project Arctos is born out of the English section. Like the founders, we believe everyone has a gift which matters. Yet, despite this belief, we know the world and its prevailing cultures often perpetuate a lack of understanding among the body of Christ (a term used for all followers of Jesus as a whole). This lack of understanding often leads to the tearing apart of one another and the misuse and even abuse of God’s gifts and people.
Project Arctos exists as a space for those who may not feel they belong, who desire guidance in mastering their gifts, and who are ready to be empowered through a supportive community to bring their gifts to a world often not yet ready to welcome them. Born out of the Chinese church yet focused on English-speaking populations, we know what it is like to not belong to the world. We know what it’s like to feel like a fish out of water, trying to live by rules we didn’t grow up with.
Whether you’re an outcast or simply looking for a place to fit into, this is a space where you may find rest and prepare for entry into the wider world, where a mission much larger than yourself (or any one of us) awaits.
