Portraits

Often when we read articles we know little of the people behind them. In this section, we pull back the curtains to introduce you to some of our writers. We hope this helps you see a bit into their world, how their relationship with God began, and give you some context and background to their writing, passions, and calling.

We asked writers to share the following:

•  Name

•  Current region of the world

•  Favorite hymn/worship song

•  Type of church context grew up in (or if did not grow up in it, the first church context encountered - could include denomination and background of what the congregation was like, what a typical Sunday looked like or what a main "worship session" looked like)

•  At least one of the following areas:

◊  Commune: What is the first memory you have of encountering God? What spurred on your relationship with God at first? How did you continue each day in your relationship with God? Where are you now?

◊  Create: What is something God led you to do by faith in the past? What about now? What about moving forward? (i.e. felt scared or ambivalent but felt God lead to take that step) Have you ever created something that did not exist at the time?

◊  Connect: What was the first Christian community you were a part of? What was the first time you enjoyed being part of Christian community? What did that look like (details)? Where are you now in Christian community? What has been one of the more difficult things you've encountered in Christian community?

At the end of each writer’s section we have a QR code you can use to view articles written by the person. We hope by seeing God’s movement in their lives you may be encouraged and strengthened in your own calling and relationship with God.
